
Edward F Thaney, CPA, CVA, has been the managing partner of Saxon, Secord, Thaney & Associates, LLC since 2007 and Thaney & Associates, CPAs, P.C.; a 35 year firm with offices in New York and Florida, since 1980. Mr. Thaney is also President of BIZunion, Inc., Transworld Business Advisors of Rochester and TLR, Inc. With CPA licenses in New York, Florida and Pennsylvania, Mr. Thaney is able to provide his clients with expertise and versatility that many others in his industry cannot. He performs work of financial accounting, tax, tax & financial planning, business development, succession planning, mergers and acquisitions and valuations for corporations, partnerships and individuals specializing in retail, auto, restaurant, construction, professional services and real estate.
With his CVA designation (Certified Valuation Analysts), Mr. Thaney has the education and experience to assist his clients with mergers, acquisitions and valuations. Understanding the complexities surrounding both the art and science of capitalization/discount rates, he has the mastery to build a case for the rate used representing his clients in the most efficient and cost-effective way.

James P Latona, Sr., CFFA, CFD, is the Vice President and Director of Implementation of Standard Operating Procedures with Saxon, Secord, Thaney & Associates, LLC. His certification designations are Forensic Financial Analyst (CFFA) and Fraud Deterrence Analyst (CFD). These certifications enable him to develop and detect internal control structures that will mitigate the rise of fraudulent activities within various organizations. Mr. Latona is a graduate of Rochester Institute of Technology and served as a board member and officer of Ridgemont Country Club where he continues to be a long standing member of 19 years and still actively participates in various committees. He also is a current board member with the John D and Seana L Holtz Foundation, Inc. a non-profit organization and shareholder and officer of various small businesses in New York State. He specializes in all aspects of financial accounting, tax preparation for corporations, partnerships, non-profits and individual entities with special emphasis on automobile dealerships, construction, professional services and real estate.
Mr. Latona is a member of the CPA Auto Dealer Consultants Association (CADCA), National Association of Certified Valuation Analysis and RAN ONE. Outside of work, Mr. Latona enjoys playing golf and coaching travel baseball.

Scott T. Gerken, CPA, is a Partner with Saxon, Secord, Thaney & Associates, LLC and serves as Vice President of BizUnion, Inc.: a subsidiary company.
Mr. Gerken is an alumnus of Rochester Institute of Technology and served ten years as the Treasurer for the Walker Fire District. He specializes in working with small to medium size enterprises and is certified in Windows, QuickBooks Proadvisor, QuickBooks trainer, NYS licensed insurance agent and member of RAN ONE Master Group; an organization that enhances the business value through development and consulting.
Mr. Gerken spearheaded the implementation of several proactive services offered through Saxon, Secord, Thaney & Associates, LLC and BizUnion, Inc., such as: New Venture Planning, Forensic Account and Internal Controls, Virtual Bookkeeping, Technology and Management Consulting, QuickBooks Training Seminars, Business Development and CFO for the Day; where he served two years as CFO for George C Miller Brick Company. Charles Secord MBA, CPA has been with Saxon, Secord, Thaney & Associates, LLC (formerly Saxon, Secord & Company, P.A.) since 1995 and specializes in personal and business taxation and business development. Mr. Secord is licensed as a CPA in both Florida and Texas and previously practiced public accounting in Winter Haven, Florida and San Angelo, Texas. He is an alumnus of the University of Texas – Arlington and the University of North Texas and is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants and the Florida Institute of Certified Public Accountants.
Mr. Secord has been a member of the Haines City Rotary Club since 1993, currently serving on the Board of Directors.

Krystal Zawodzinski has been a Business Development Specialist at Saxon, Secord, Thaney & Associates, since June of 2005. She has worked in the industries of construction, auto dealers, manufacturing, retail and professional services.
Mrs. Zawodzinski is a Certified Public Accountant with the state of New York and holds a bachelors degree in accounting from the Rochester Institute of Technology. She serves on the board of the E. Philip Saunders College of Business Accounting Advisory Board and is a member of Rochester Young Professionals.
In her current role, Mrs. Zawodzinski prepares audits, reviews, compilations, tax returns, ensures compliance with state and federal laws and advises clients about different tax positions. Mrs. Zawodzinski played a large role in implementing a paperless office and enjoys keeping up with technology; always looking for ways to improve the paperless environment in the field of accounting.
Mrs. Zawodzinski lives in Webster, NY with her husband, two children and dogs. She enjoys working out, staying active and spending time with family and friends.

Stanley K Fisher, CPA has been a licensed Certified Public Accountant since March of 1988. He earned his Accounting degree from Rochester Institute of Technology and also holds the title of Notary Public.
Mr. Fisher has been with Saxon, Secord, Thaney & Associates, as an Accountant Manager for four years; being an intricate part of the firms’ direction. He has been in the accounting business since 1982 with titles of Senior Accountant, Manager, Controller and Partner.
Specialties of Mr. Fisher’s are; audit managing, tax returns, tax planning, payroll reporting, financial reporting and business consulting for small to medium size establishments.
Mr. Fisher resides with his wife, has two grown children and enjoys spending time at Black Lake during the summer.

Teri L. Rabinowitz has been a Business Development Accountant Specialist since 2006 with Saxon, Secord, Thaney and Associates, LLC; with offices in New York and Florida.
Mrs. Rabinowitz has extensive experience with small and medium size enterprises, which include not-for-profit and municipal entities. She specializes in tax, financial statement preparations and audit assistance.
She is an alumnus of SUNY Geneseo and enjoys spending time with her husband, son and pets.

Ashley M. Minch has been a Business Development Accounting Specialist with Saxon, Secord, Thaney & Associates, LLC with offices in New York and Florida, since January 2009. She prepares individual and corporate tax returns, and performs audits, compilations and reviews on various entities including not-for-profits and auto dealerships.
Mrs. Minch received her Bachelor’s of Science degree in Accounting from the College at Brockport, State University of New York in December 2008.
Mrs. Minch is a member of the State Society of Certified Public Accountants and is a member of a Young Professionals networking group. She is currently working towards her Certified Public Accountant license and enjoys spending time with her husband, Dennis.

Nicholas (Nick) J. Cameron, CPA has been a licensed Certified Public Accountant with the State of Florida since June of 2005. He earned his Accounting degree from Flagler College located in Saint Augustine, FL and has been working in the accounting industry since 2000 with titles of Staff Accountant, Senior Accountant, and Tax Manager. Mr. Cameron has been with Saxon, Secord, Thaney & Associates, LLC, as a Tax Manager since February of 2010 and is an integral part of the firm’s direction.
Mr. Cameron’s experience ranges from the more common accounting practices, such as financial statement preparation, payroll reporting, federal and state income tax preparation for corporations, s-corporation, individuals, partnerships, and trusts to more specialized areas such as estate tax, fiduciary accounting and construction accounting. He enjoys spending free time with his wife, Elly, and their two daughters and when not with them, you can find him surfing at the beach or on the golf course.

Laureen Anderson has been a Business Development Specialist and Bookkeeping Department Manager with Saxon, Secord, Thaney & Associates, LLC since 2006.
Mrs. Anderson has over 25 years experience in the bookkeeping field and has been a Certified ProAdvisor for QuickBooks since 2006. In her current role, Mrs. Anderson’s main duties include set-up of bookkeeping files for small and medium size companies, preparation of sales tax returns, payroll returns, state and federal business tax returns, and actively aids clients with financial statement preparation.
Mrs. Anderson enjoys spending time with her husband and four children.

Lori S. Laney has been a Business Development Specialist for three years with Saxon, Secord, Thaney & Associates, LLC.
Ms. Laney has been in the accounting field since 1994 and has been the lead QuickBooks ProAdvisor for the firm for the past three years. Her specialties include QuickBooks training seminars and consulting, virtual bookkeeping, payroll reporting, tax returns and customer service.
Ms. Laney has two children and resides with her husband, James.

John Kettle is the Director of Administration for Saxon, Secord, Thaney & Associates, LLC and related companies. After a successful career in banking, John now counsels and advises our firm professionals to achieve the same success.
Drawing on his forty years of experience in administration and customer service, Mr. Kettle works to enhance the efficiency of the firm while maximizing client satisfaction.
When not at work, John enjoys spending time with his grand kids, traveling and playing golf.

Mattie Martinez has been the Firm Administrator at Thaney & Associates, CPAs, P.C., parent company of Saxon, Secord, Thaney & Associates, LLC, for over 30 years. In this role, Ms. Martinez leads a team of three Client Service Specialists in providing all aspects of the office day-to-day operations including, customer service, accounts payable and receivable, human resources and payroll. She is also part of the Management Team and works very close with the partners in decision-making.

Leigh Ann Borrelli has been a Client Service Consultant and Office Manager at Saxon, Secord, Thaney & Associates, LLC., a division of Thaney & Associates CPAs, P.C. since 2005. Previously, Mrs. Borrelli worked in the telecommunication industry for seven years where she held positions as an Administrative Assistant, General Ledger Accountant and Project Manager. In her current role, Leigh Ann oversees the day-to-day operations of our front office, directs the quality control of our delivered products, manages the schedules and is the direct liaison for two of the firms three Partners and Directors. Mrs. Borrelli is also the assistant and backup to our Firm Administrator.
When not working, she also serves as a Nationally Certified Judge in the sport of Cheerleading, judging at many of the local youth and high school tournaments.

Brandy Halstead has been the Director of First Impressions since December 2008 at our Rochester, NY office. When not greeting clients with her sparkling smile, Mrs. Halstead helps keep the firm paperless through quality control and preparation of all projects that comes in and out of the office. In addition, she is part of both the administrative staff and marketing team and is the Customer Service Representative for our sister company, TLR, Inc.
Before working for Saxon, Secord, Thaney & Associates, LLC, she worked at Home Depot in the accounting and computer room offices. In her spare time, Mrs. Halstead waitresses and bartends.

Angela Mehit, started with Saxon, Secord, Thaney & Associates, LLC as a Client Service Consultant and the Kissimmee office’s Director of First Impressions in May 2010. Ms. Mehit handles all administrative needs for the Florida personnel as well as providing support to our clients in various other matters.
Ms. Mehit has her Associate Degree and is currently working towards a four-year degree in Accounting. She is also a Florida Public Notary and has obtained her real estate license for purposes of business brokering.
When not at the office, Ms. Mehit enjoys spending time at the beach, going to concerts, and traveling.

Barbara Yahn has been Network Administrator at Saxon, Secord, Thaney & Associates, LLC for over four years. For over 20 years, she has worked in the industries of construction, health care, computer outsourcing and manufacturing where her jobs have included Information Technology and Network Administration.
In her current role, Ms. Yahn, advises clients on network and IT solutions, research, maintains the computer network, software and hardware. These duties combine well with her Associates degree in Accounting from Rochester Business Institute.
Ms. Yahn resides with her dogs and fiancé and when not working, she is a Certified Personal Trainer instructing aerobics at area continuing education programs.
